Satpura Jungle Safari

Located in the heart of Madhya Pradesh, Satpura National Park offers one of the most unique and immersive jungle safari experiences in India. Unlike other tiger reserves, Satpura allows walking safaris, canoe rides, and boat safaris, giving wildlife lovers an unmatched opportunity to truly connect with nature.

🌳 Why Satpura Is Special

Part of the larger Satpura Tiger Reserve, this untouched forest ecosystem spans over 1,400 sq km and includes dense sal forests, sandstone peaks, rivers, and ravines. Satpura is known for:

  • Leopard, sloth bear, and tiger sightings in non-touristy zones

  • Rich birdlife with over 300 species including Indian skimmers and hornbills

  • A chance to spot Indian giant squirrels, crocodiles, and gaurs

  • One of the few parks in India offering walking safaris in the core zone

It’s perfect for those who prefer offbeat wildlife safaris in Madhya Pradesh and deeper wilderness experiences.

🚶 What Makes This Safari Unique?

Our Satpura safari experience is curated to provide a slow, detailed, and eco-sensitive exploration of the jungle:

  • Walking safaris with expert naturalists—a rare opportunity in India

  • Jeep safaris through core and buffer zones with fewer tourist crowds

  • Boat and canoe safaris on the Denwa River for birdwatching and crocodile sightings

  • Stays in handpicked eco-lodges and nature camps with immersive forest views

  • Night safaris in buffer areas to explore nocturnal species

This is not a rush-through game drive, but a nature-lover’s paradise with time to observe, learn, and breathe in the forest.

🧭 Ideal For:

  • Experienced wildlife travelers seeking something beyond the usual tiger safari

  • Birdwatchers and wildlife photographers

  • Families or couples who enjoy peaceful, off-grid nature escapes

  • Researchers, students, and conservation enthusiasts

Itineraries

Day 1

Jabalpur – Satpura

After reaching Jabalpur station, meet our representative and transfer to vehicle for drive to Satpura (3hr road journey with one halt). Reach by afternoon 12pm & check in to the resort. Lunch will be served. The greenery & lush rich biodiversity of the forest will make you feel rejoiced. Head out for a nature trail/birdwatching trail around the property forest. Keep your Binocs, camera & eyes wide open to look out for birds around. Return for evening tea with a sit out discussing days sighting and QNA session.

Day 2

Morning and Evening Safari

With an early wake up call, have a quick tea cup and head out for safari, this time from a different safari track and zone. The forest has different gifts in different corners. We look out for the big cat and also enjoy birding which is an active part in the morning time. There are high chances of sighting big cats early morning as their walking activity is high for hunting & territory marking. Return for breakfast and relax until Lunch. Post lunch enjoy the safari (we have 4 beautiful chances to spot the big cats and the other elusive animals of the forest – Be patient & vigilant). Return in the evening for tea and discussing sighting. List out number of birds you spotted while in all 3 safaris, don’t miss the colourful feathers. Dinner and day off
