Bandipur National Park Jungle Safari

Set in the picturesque foothills of the Western Ghats, Bandipur National Park in Karnataka is one of the best places for a jungle safari in South India. Once the private hunting ground of the Mysore Maharajas, it is now a thriving tiger reserve and a biodiversity hotspot within the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve.

🐅 Why Visit Bandipur National Park?

Bandipur offers a rich and balanced ecosystem with dense teak and sandalwood forests, open grasslands, and rivers. It is home to:

  • Over 120 tigers and leopards

  • Majestic Asiatic elephants in large herds

  • Sloth bears, Indian gaurs, dhole (wild dogs), and antelopes

  • 200+ bird species, including crested serpent eagles and Malabar trogons

This makes Bandipur a must-visit destination for wildlife lovers and photographers looking for an authentic tiger safari in Karnataka.

🚙 What to Expect on This Safari

The Bandipur jungle safari is conducted in regulated zones using eco-friendly government forest vehicles with trained drivers and certified naturalists. The Tern Travellers’ package includes:

  • 2–4 safari drives in different forest zones

  • Stay in forest lodges or eco-resorts near the park boundary

  • Birdwatching walks & bonfire sessions (seasonal)

  • Wildlife interpretation sessions with our experts

Morning and evening safaris increase the chances of wildlife sightings, especially tigers, elephants, and leopards.
