Bera Leopard Safari – Wild Rajasthan’s Hidden Leopard Paradise 🐆
Explore Bera, Rajasthan’s leopard capital 🐆. Enjoy thrilling safaris, tribal culture & dramatic granite landscapes in wild Jawai country.
Nestled in the rugged Aravalli hills of Rajasthan, Bera is one of India’s most extraordinary wildlife destinations, famous for its high-density leopard population living peacefully alongside local communities 🐆🌄. Unlike traditional tiger reserves, Bera offers a rare chance to observe leopards in open landscapes, rocky caves, and granite hills—often in broad daylight.
Located near Jawai Dam, Bera’s dramatic terrain of giant boulders, scrub forests, and riverbeds creates the perfect natural habitat for leopards. Apart from these elusive big cats, the region is home to sloth bears, striped hyenas, jackals, crocodiles, blue bulls (nilgai), and over 150 bird species 🦅🐊.
A Bera leopard safari is conducted in open 4x4 vehicles with experienced local trackers who know the land intimately. Each drive is a thrilling search through rocky outcrops where leopards rest, hunt, and raise cubs. Sunsets here are magical 🌅—with golden light illuminating the hills as leopards emerge from their dens.
What truly sets Bera apart is its coexistence model 🤝. The Rabari tribal community reveres wildlife, allowing leopards and humans to share the landscape harmoniously. This makes Bera not just a safari destination, but a powerful conservation success story.
Whether you are a wildlife photographer, nature lover, or someone looking for an offbeat luxury wilderness experience, Bera delivers raw wilderness without the crowds 🌿.

Day 1
Udaipur – Jawai
Arrive at Udaipur and meet our Wildlife naturalist and host, welcome all nature enthusiast and travellers. The drive from Udaipur is of about 2Hrs hence our meeting time at Udaipur Airport/Station is 0800Hrs and we drive from Udaipur to resort. However, participants are expected to complete their breakfast and report. As we drive to rocky plains the wait of witnessing a fiercely predator is breaking. And soon we reach our resort, where we are not only welcomed in traditional style by the hospitality group but also the warm and welcoming birds, trees and the vivid beauty of nature. Rooms will be given and you can freshen up and relax after a long drive that we had. Meet for lunch with your cameras and binoculars and soon after you finish lunch we head for our first safari in the Forests of Bera (Mountain Plains). Evening some hot tea – would be served atop a hill with sight of sunset alongside of a lake. An evening stroll around the cottages, perhaps a shorter one as time doesn’t permit. Relaxing in your Swiss Tents, playing a mouth organ and watching the night come to life in forest is an experience within itself. Dinner will be served and we call this day off early for an early rise next day.
Day 2
Safaris (Morning & Evening)
Wake up to the calls of your alarm as you have to catch the first sight of leopards under first rays of light. Early morning tea will refresh you and we head out in the forest in gypsy. Photographing the birds and sighting some rare leopards will add to exotic flavours of forest safaris. Return back to resort for breakfast and relaxation. One can walk around for some birding. Freshly cooked aromatic food will be served in lunch. Post lunch we head for another safari in the woods until evening and return with some real experiences of a Scrub hill forest. Evening tea and snacks will be provided atop the hill with sight of sunset alongside of a lake. Post dinner we sit out and look at the stars listening to stories of such a rich bio-diversity. We call it a day.

- Wildlife safaris are a matter of luck and opportunity. No guarantee of any sighting is made. Neither of our associates will quote that, although we try our best to spot and show you as much as nature allows us to.
- Never enter the forest with an intention of spotting a single species, it will only disappoint you. The forest is a gift packet with a lot to surprise with. Listen to our naturalist for more wonderful experience.
- Our safaris are not target species specific (Unless specified)
- We explore everything we find uncommon and need to be explained.
- Any demand for spotting a single species in any jeep will not be entertained by the guide or the tour leader as there are other travelers who would want to see the birds etc.
